Will Nichols

Will Nichols is the director of bands at West Stokes High School, where he serves as the conductor of the symphonic band, chief director of the “Band of Excellence” marching band, leader of the “Big Cat Big Band” jazz ensemble, and co-sponsor of the West Stokes chapter of Tri-M Music Honor Society.
Mr. Nichols is a native of Pilot Mountain, North Carolina and he completed a bachelors of music (BM) in music education at the University of North Carolina - Greensboro under the instruction of Dr. Jennifer Walter, where he graduated with full university honors. He currently lives in Siloam, NC with his wife Katie and three dogs Maddie, Molly, and Maggie.
In addition to his teaching career, Mr. Nichols serves in the 208th Army Reserve Band, headquartered in Concord, NC. As a reservist bandsman, he performs as a tenor saxophonist in the concert band, big band, small ceremonial band, marching band, and is the Noncommissioned Officer In Charge of the saxophone quartet. With the 208th, Mr. Nichols has performed at military ceremonies, major league baseball games, schools, conferences, and completed two performance tours across the southeastern United States.
He is a member of the National Association for Music Educators, Northwest North Carolina Bandmasters Association, the Stokes County Band Directors Association, and Phi Mu Alpha National Fraternity Incorporated. In his free time, Mr. Nichols enjoys studying music, composing band music, and watching Star Wars.
